Inter Religious Dialogue

For many years the Centre for Social Concern (CfSC) has been involved with inter religious dialogue in different parts of Malawi.

The Mangochi Interfaith Project

Since 2005 CfSC has been involved with nurturing dialogue between Muslims and Christians in Mangochi District. The fruit of this work is the Mangochi Interfaith Project which is now developing into an independent entity in its own right. The willingness of the people of Mangochi to live together in peace has brought about much mutual understanding. Due to the way that people cooperate and work together CfSC liased with the Project to draw up a Code of Conduct that could be used by politicians, faith leaders and traditional leaders in the run up to the forthcoming elections and beyond. On the 5th March 2009 the Mangochi Interfaith Project launched the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct booklet in pdf format and the text of the Code of Conduct in a Word document can can be downloaded from this web site. There is also an article about the launch avaiable. If you use the Code we would be grateful if you could let us know and give us your reaction to it and its effectivity. You can do this by contacting Tobias Jere at CfSC.
